There are 2.2 million puppy mill dogs being bred and sold each year. This is leaving many families with sick puppies that can result in expensive vet bills and even losing your puppy. This company seems to be combating this head-on!
PawFax was created with the pups in mind. It’s our mission to create a better world for dogs everywhere. Unfortunately, puppy mills continue to operate throughout the United States. These cruel facilities skirt laws and get around regulations in an effort to sell as many puppies as possible, at any cost. If you think you know of a puppy mill in your (or any!) area, you may be left scratching your head. Do you call the police? Animal control? The Humane Society?
Our answer? All of the above. It’s best to report any suspected puppy mills to every regulatory group that can help. We’ve assembled some resources here to help you do just that.
Report a puppy mill when you spot one
If you or someone you know was the victim of a Puppy Scam, HSUS has a handy complaint form here.
The HSUS also has a tip-line for puppy mills. If you or anyone you know has information regarding illegal conditions at a breeding facility, simply call 1-877-MILL-TIP.
Additionally, we suggest reporting any suspected puppy mills to your local law enforcement and animal control. You will not need to leave a name or phone number when reporting a potential puppy mill. Make sure you give the law enforcement or animal control agency as many details as you can. Every little bit helps.
Another great idea is to get a written letter from your local law enforcement. We need to work together to fight this issue, whatever path you take to report a puppy mill, you are helping. The HSUS maintains a rewards program for any information leading to the closure of a puppy mill/animal fighting organization. This letter can be mailed to:
Animal Fighting Reward Program
The Humane Society of the United States
1255 23rd Street, NW, Suite 450, Washington, DC 20037
Alternatively, you can use the HSUS Puppy Mill Reporting Form.
